Valorant of Disguised Toast goes 7-0 to qualify for the NA Challengers League.

Posted on January 17, 2023March 16, 2023 By cryptogamingnow No Comments on Valorant of Disguised Toast goes 7-0 to qualify for the NA Challengers League.

On January 13, streamer, content creator, and OfflineTV member Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang’s newly established Valorant squad, Disguised (DSG). They qualified for the North American Challengers League.

Disguised Toast was overcome with emotion after his team qualified for Challengers Split 1.

Toast startled on January 8 with the announcement that he had officially signed with a professional Valorant team. The team would compete in the NA Challengers open qualifiers.

The streamer claims that DSG had only been practicing together for two months before the open qualifier.

Toast chose seasoned leadership to lead his team. Former 100 Thieves in-game commander Joshua “steel” Nissan was acquired by Toast about four months after leaving T1’s Valorant roster. The team ultimately relocated to the Asia-Pacific area for the 2023 VCT season.

Knights players and coaching staff comprised the remainder of the roster. Including Damion “XXiF” Cook, Amgalan “Genghsta” Nemekhbayar, Drake “Exalt” Branly, and coach Kyle “OCEAN” O’Brien. After the previous year, they all left the NA organization and became independent contractors.

Up-and-coming Joseph “clear” Allen, a star for the Valorant, rounded out the team. The Filipino athlete got other offers from Tier 1 organizations, according to Toast. But he preferred to play with DSG.

Steel led DSG to a 7-0 record in the NA Challengers open qualifier. An outstanding record compared to teams like The Nation that are laden with FPS experience.

DSG defeated Drift, Coconut Munchers, Entertainment District, Team Fish Taco, Fullerton, NCIS, and Oxygen Esports, who featured former Cloud9 player Mitch “mitch” Semago.

DSG only lost two maps throughout the open qualifier, first on Icebox against Team Fish Taco and again on Fracture against where is Fullerton.

Even with steel at the helm, it is a significant accomplishment for such a young club to qualify for the North American Challengers League on their first attempt. After a poor 2022 with T1, the 33-year-old will seek redemption in 2023.

NA Challengers Split 1 will continue DSG’s quest from February 1 to March 17.

Toast’s Valorant squad will face stiffer opposition from M80, FaZeClan, TSM, Shopify Rebellion, G2 Esports, The Guard, Team BreakThru, Oxygen Esports, Dark Ratio, and the two teams that qualify for the NA Challengers Last Chance qualifier.
